Development of cross-border structures aligned with business models
International structures require alignment of jurisdictions, operational logic, and long-term strategic intent
LEGALIS is a selective advisory boutique focused on cross-border structuring and international business operations.
The advisory approach combines entrepreneurial experience, multidisciplinary academic grounding in law and economics, and practical expertise in international structures across multiple jurisdictions and operational environments. Mandates are assessed not only from a formal perspective, but also in relation to strategic alignment, operational functionality, and long-term structural coherence.
Engagements typically involve mid-sized enterprises, founders, and established operators with cross-border activities or expansion intentions. The focus is on situations where structural decisions carry strategic weight and require integrated analysis rather than isolated technical input.
LEGALIS operates through a structured, mandate-based approach with a clear focus on confidentiality, clarity, and execution quality.

Head of Legalis & Principal Legal Strategist
Dr. Mathias Kunze is an internationally active entrepreneur, strategic advisor, and structuring specialist with more than 35 years of hands-on experience in cross-border business and international corporate configurations. His professional and entrepreneurial experience is grounded in a multidisciplinary academic foundation in law and economics, combining business administration, regulatory analysis, and international legal studies.
The primary focus of Dr. Mathias Kunze lies in the strategic analysis, evaluation, and structuring of international corporate and investment frameworks, economic and regulatory structuring models, framework assessments, as well as complex entrepreneurial special situations. His advisory work combines international entrepreneurial experience with structural thinking at the intersection of corporate development, jurisdictional analysis, regulatory classification, economic evaluation, and strategic positioning. The core focus is on scenarios in which business substance, legal frameworks, operational viability, and international implementability must be integrated into coherent structures.
His key areas of activity include international corporate structures, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, regulated business models, and complex special situations with heightened requirements regarding liability exposure, regulatory classification, and economic continuity. Central to his approach is the combination of personal entrepreneurial responsibility, international structuring experience, and the ability to translate complex matters into robust strategic decision-making frameworks.
Dr. Mathias Kunze also brings his professional and entrepreneurial experience into international educational institutions. LEGALIS provides strategic advisory on cross-border structuring and international business operations. The work focuses on structural analysis, jurisdictional evaluation, and the design of coherent international setups. LEGALIS does not provide regulated legal services, tax filings, or licensed accounting work. Where such services are required, coordination with locally licensed professionals is arranged.
Engagements typically involve mid-sized enterprises, founders, and established operators with cross-border activities, international expansion plans, or complex structural questions. The focus is on situations where structural decisions carry strategic weight and require integrated analysis across legal, economic, and operational dimensions.
Every engagement begins with an Initial Consultation. Based on its outcome, a defined mandate scope is agreed in writing. The work then follows a structured four-stage process: Case Analysis, Structuring Strategy, Implementation, and Operational Readiness. Each stage produces clear deliverables and decision points.
The Initial Consultation is offered at a fixed fee of USD 980 / EUR 850. Beyond that, mandate fees depend on scope, complexity, and required involvement. A defined fee proposal is provided in writing before any mandate begins. Hourly billing, fixed-fee packages, and milestone-based structures are available depending on the engagement.
All communications, documents, and case details are treated as strictly confidential. Information handling follows the standards of the LEGALIS information security management system (ISO 27001:2022). Non-disclosure arrangements are signed on request prior to substantive discussions.
Advisory is provided in English, German, and Polish. Engagements regularly involve setups across the European Union, the United States, and selected international jurisdictions. Where local legal or tax representation is required, LEGALIS coordinates with an established network of locally licensed professionals.
The Initial Consultation concludes with a written follow-up containing assessment, initial solution approaches, and recommended next steps. Clients then decide independently whether to proceed with a formal mandate. The Initial Consultation does not create any continuing obligation.
Inquiries submitted through the Pre-Assessment option typically receive a written response within two to three business days. Initial Consultations are usually scheduled within one to two weeks of confirmation, depending on availability and the scope of preparation required.
